The theme of the sunroom is our preferred vacation place off the shores of New England. On our last trip we collected dozens of beach photos on our digital camera. Is the Nikon 85mm 1.8 a good lens to shoot bikini models at the beach durning sunrise?

I have a tamron 28-75 and a nikon 50mm 1.8. I have the chance to purchase an almost new 85mm 1.8 for 250 dollars, but I'm not sure if I even need it. Anyone have any feedback on this lens personally? Will it do the job?? Is 250 dollars a good price? Thanks! By the way I am shooting with a Nikon d300.

It's a decent lens. And a prime lens. Good for portraiture. Like all Nikon equipment it is over hyped and over priced. I got away from them many years ago and have never regretted it.
